A chilly swim provides learning experience

VERNON — Action Park once again participated in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson on Friday.

Unlike last year’s warm and sunny event, the youngsters arrived to find that both the air and the pool’s water temperature were both around 65 degrees. However, some six tough little boys and girls toughed it out anyway.

“We were thrilled to take part in a world-wide event and even though local schools were still in session for this year’s date, we still had a great group of young brave hearts come out and have fun learning the basics of proper swimming," Action Park Director of Marketing & Sales Jim Costello said.

In return for their participation in the 30-plus-minute free event, the eager learners each received a complimentary ticket to return to Action Park.
