Sun screening event planned in Newton

    The Sussex-Warren Chronic Disease Coalition will host a cancer screening program.

    The Sussex Warren Chronic Disease Coalition, a grant funded program held by the Sussex County Department of Environmental and Public Health Services, has arranged for the County’s screening location to be held Saturday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Memory Park near the Newton Pool, 35 Moran Street in Newton.

    Erika Peereboom from the North Jersey Dermatology Center of Rockaway and Lillian Struck from the Affiliated Dermatologists & Dermatologic Surgeons will be donate their time and expertise to provide this free screening.

    The screening area will be held near the main pool entrance, under a tent to protect everyone from the sun. In addition to screenings, there will be a mini-health fair. Join us for the day and learn how reduce risks against skin cancer through practicing sun safety behaviors, among other interesting health topics. Free educational materials also will be provided to all participants.
