Sussex County Miners plan fireworks display

The Sussex County Miners, New Jersey’s newest independent professional baseball team, will hold fireworks on Thursday, July 2, to celebrate Independence Day.

The fireworks will follow the team’s home game versus Trois-Rivieres Aigles, which starts at 7:05 p.m..

The fireworks show, which will be larger and more elaborate than the stadium’s usual post-game fireworks, will be put on by Garden State Fireworks, a company run by the Santore family of New Jersey for more than 100 years. The show is scheduled for Thursday, July 2, rather than on July 4 because the Miners will be on the road for the actual holiday.

“This fireworks show will be a perfect way to celebrate our nation’s birthday with our fans. We welcome everyone in the area to come and enjoy a festive night to celebrate our great nation’s independence,” said Dave Chase, general manager of the Sussex County Miners. “Gates open at 6 pm and concession stands will be open prior to the game.”

Skylands Stadium is located at 94 Championship Place, Augusta. Tickets are $10 for reserve seating and $12 for field-level seats.
