Golden rays of the sun beamed down on the graduate matching the gold gowns of the female graduates as family, friends and school faculty witnessed them receive their diplomas. The processional was led onto the ceremony field by bagpiper John Loggie.

Vernon Township High School Principal Timothy Dunnigan and Interim Superintendent of Schools Mr. Arthur DiBenedetto were among those who spoke during the ceremony. Valedictorian Kirstin Ondris and Salutatorian Shannon Turner addressed fellow graduates and guests.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, graduates posed for photographs, hugged and kissed. They departed in different directions to begin their journey in life. Some will go into military service, some into colleges, universities and trade schools for higher learning. And some will go straight into the work force.
