Nominate your killer garden

| 08 Jul 2015 | 10:18

Do you have a killer garden flourishing with delicious produce? Nominate it! Or nominate a neighbor's or a friend's garden in Dirt Magazine's Kitchen Garden Tour.

All size gardens are welcome. Gardens will be included in a self-guided tour and could even win awards.

Now in its second year, Dirt Magazine's Kitchen Garden Tour is better than ever — and it's all happening on Aug. 30.

Take the self-guided tour anytime 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you're in the neighborhood, stop for lunch at the Warwick Valley Winery in Warwick, N.Y.

Vote for your favorite Kitchen Garden in different categories.

And then join Dirt magazine and fellow gardeners for music, food and drinks for the Awards ceremony and reception at the Mohawk House Restaurant in Sparta, N.J. from 6 to 8 p.m.

Dirt Magazine will be there to greet you in the open air conservatory room, mingling by the outdoor fireplace and oven. Wine and draft beer on tap will be served, along with delicious hors d'ouevres.

Early birds who purchase before Aug. 1, $30 per ticket. After Aug. 1, $35. The week before the event Dirt will provide the precise locations of the Kitchen Gardens.

Read the descriptions, take a look at the photos and the locations and map yourself a reasonable route. You will not be able to see them all (even if you're an A type personality).

Your ticket gets you access to the self-guided tour, voting rights and entry to the Awards Reception, where Dirt Magazine will award prizes to the gardens you voted for.
