HAMBURG — The Franklin Amerrican Legion baseball team defeated Whippanong, 3-2, of Sunday, Jul 5, at Wallkill Valley Regional High School.
Franklin jumped out ahead 3-0 early in the contest. Whippanong was eventually able to tighten the score 3-2. A late surge by Whippanong was stifled in the seventh inning by Franklin. A Whippanong runner on third base tried to accomplish the game tying score but was forced back where he was tagged out ending the game.
