High Point Regional High School's Science Dept., specifically teacher Lisabeth Sunda sponsored a trip for students to Costa Rica.

Nearly 40 students went on the trip, which departed shortly after graduation to see the rain forest, whether hiking through or zip lining over it, rafting, to the base of a volcano, and to the Pacific Ocean.

While exploring, the students were in a structured learning environment where they were made aware of the delicate balance found within the rain forest and even conducted scientific experiments with the local bat population.

They were immersed in the local culture and were given the opportunity to prepare their own meal farm to table style.
