Thousands turn out for Jefferson Day

Volunteer cooks from JeffersonþÄôs Woodstock Sportsman organization offered a variety of all American grilled food.
Mr. Peanut was also on hand and brought some extra top hats for photo ops.
The Acoustic Eels were one of several bands to perform.
Jefferson resident Captain Rick Yokum of the New Jersey SPCA was on hand to answer questions about animal cruelty.

Scott Reid, the owner of Jefferson-based Texas Smoke BBQ was on hand to offer his award-winning ribs to those attending Jefferson Day. For the second year in a row Texas Smoke BBQ won the top prizes for ribs and sauce at the recent Rock, Ribs, and Ridges festival at the Sussex County Fairgrounds. The business is located on Route 15 South in Jefferson.
OAK RIDGE — Thousands of residents spent a lovely summer day behind the Weldon Road location of the Jefferson Township High School on Saturday.
The 29th annual Jefferson Township Day celebration included everything from a parade to a fishing derby to fireworks in the evening.
Other attractions included a hot-dog eating contest, the New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum, a petting zoo, and lots of live music. There also were several food vendors and inflatable activities for the children.
