    Evelyn M. Rush, age 83, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at her residence. Born on May 20, 1932, in Hamburg to the late Charles E. Rush, Jr., and Eliza (Rome) Rush, Evelyn had lived in Hamburg all of her life. She had been a self-employed business owner, owning and operating Ocet's Jewelry in Franklin with her late husband, John Ocet, until she retired in 1998. Evelyn was a member and elder of the former First Presbyterian Church of Hamburg and was currently attending the First Presbyterian Church of Ogdensburg. She also was a member of the Lafayette Senior Group, the Hardyston Senior Group, St. Jude The Apostle Seniors, and the Chinkchewunska Chapter — D.A.R. of Wantage. She was predeceased by her husband, John Ocet, and two sisters, Marjorie Sharpe and Loena Messineo. Evelyn is survived by her nephews, Kevin Sharpe and his wife, Donna, of Sparta, Thomas Messineo and his wife, Jackie, of Bloomfield, and Michael Messineo of Milford, Pa.; and her niece, Elizabeth Manzi, and her husband, Thomas, of Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex Borough. Interment will follow at North Hardyston Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
