The F.S. Burroughs/North Jersey Trout Unlimited held a very successful Children’s Fishing Contest at Jefferson Township Day on July 11 continuing the tradition started many years ago by Bill Clark.

The catch-and-release program was held at Weldon Road Fishing Education Pond, located across the street from the Jefferson Township High School and as always was very well attended.

NJTU members were on hand under sunny skies helping children bait their lines, measuring and weighing their catch, and awarding prizes. The boys and girls ranged were up to age 15 and there was no fee to participate. Prizes were for the first, second, and third largest fish caught in each age group.
