Franklin woman faces drug, fraud charges

A Franklin woman faces charges after borough police conducted an investigation into narcotics and prescription fraud.

Angela Hope Adams, 43, was charged on Monday, July 20, with four counts of obtaining a controlled dangerous subsance by fraud and one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance at 8 p.m. at her home.

Police allege Adams gave false names and information to physicians and pharmacies to obtain narcotics from pharmacies in the borough. Police said she allegedly had un undisclosed amount of opiate-based narcotic-like pain relievers, which they said were not obtained lawfully.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow. Local municipalities also are currently investigating similar offenses allegedly involving Adams.
