Franklin Revolver & Rifle Association held a Girls, Guys & Guns Event at their pistol range on Buckwheat Rd in Franklin on Sunday, July 19.

This hands-on introduction to firearms is provided free of charge as a community service to men and women who are interested in learning about the shooting sports.

The afternoon began with a classroom presentation on firearm safety and basic pistol shooting given by club member, NRA Master Shooter John Heller. Then each student was assigned a club member as a personal shooting coach. Coaches donate their time, expertise and firearm used during the bullseye target-shooting portion of the program.

The ammunition, ear-and-eye protection and necessary equipment for these events are made possible by grant money received from the Friends of the NRA.

For information on future events call Special Events Chairperson, Charlotte Richard at (973) 383-4994 as these events fill up quickly.
