Gun complaint leads to drug arrest

Franklin Borough police are investigating a complaint involving the use of a firearm after several patrons at Koz's Corner on Rutherford Avenue at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, reported hearing at least three gunshots in the parking lot.

Police said a suspect described as a white male, about 5'11", 200 pounds with brown hair and a large beard was seen leaving the parking area in a small red vehicle after firing a small weapon.

Police said no firearms have been found.

However, while conducting a search in a nearby residence, police said they located an undisclosed amount of marijuana, scales and more than 1,000 small clear bags to package and sell marijuana.

Evan Clark, 24, of Franklin was charged with possession with the intent to distribute, along with several other related narcotics offenses. Police said Clark is not a suspect in the firearms complaint.
