Woman faces drug charges after complaint

A Hamburg woman faces drug and charges after Franklin police responded to the Franklin Walmart after management reported a suspicious condition on July 31 at 9:45 p.m.

Management in the Walmart, specifically reported a female who was in the public restroom, acting unusual.

When officers arrived they said they located Brittany A. Jamieson, 24, of Hamburg, who was allegedly found to be in possession of heroin, hypodermic needles, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia. She was later charged with one count of theft by deception.

Jamieson was arrested at approximately 9:55 p.m. and transported to the Franklin Police Dept., where she was charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of hypodermic needles, use of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said detectives also allege during July that Jamieson had been taking several hundred dollars worth of merchandise from the store without purchasing them. Police said she is alleged to have returned the stolen items to the store in order to receive store credit for the item. Police said she is then alleged to have sold the gift cards to local pawn shops.

Police said she was arrested at 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3 and will appear in court on Wednesday, Aug. 5, to answer her initial narcotics complaints on July 31, and to answer harges related to the new theft complaint.
