Third arrest made in false report case

A Newton woman was charged with obstruction of justice and filing a false police report on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m.

Franklin police said Elizabeth Daddas, 45, was arrested after she was found hiding in a closet in a residence.

Nicole Deluca, 24, of Hamburg was previously charged with filing a false police report by providing false information to law enforcement officers with respect to the commission of a crime. Ronald W. Sahli, 47, of Franklin was previously charged one count of theft.

Police said DeLuca reported a male had taken $1,000 from her control, however, police said further investigation alleges that she arranged an illegal narcotics transaction and suffered a monetary loss as a result of the transaction.

The matter is still under investigation and more arrests are likely, police said.
