Susan K. Brown

Susan K. Brown, age 52, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, New York. Born in Sussex to the late Harold B. and Hester (Matthews) Brown, Susie had lived in Sussex County for most of her life. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially loved being in the sun, gardening, cooking, and reading. Susie had a great sense of humor and always made people smile and laugh. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Daniel Brown in 1965, Harold "Wayne" Brown, Sr. in 2004, and Steven P. Brown in 2012; her sister, Donna Kinney in 1978; and her niece, Heather Brown in 2010. She is survived by her significant other, John Pepper and his daughter, Jonnie Pepper, of Port Jervis, New York; her son, Bobby Ray DeGraw of Scranton, Pa.; her daughter, Kimberly DeGraw of Liberty, New York; her three brothers, Dennis Brown of Wantage, Rodney Brown of Wantage, and Jerry Brown of Sussex; her three sisters, Darlene Thompson of Slate Hill, New York, Karen Brown of Kingston, New York, and Nancy Brown of Hugenot, New York; and three grandchildren. A celebration of Susie's life will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex.
