County plans flu clinics

    The Sussex County Dept. of Environmental and Health Services, Office of Public Health Nursing is sponsoring several flu clinics throughout the county.

    The first will be on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Fredon Civic Center from 9 a.m. until noon and the second will be on Thursday, Sept. 17, at theh Sandyston Municipal Building from 3-6 p.m. The third will be at the Byram Municipal Building on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 3-6 p.m., with the fourth scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Sparta Senior Center. There will be a clinic at the Wantage Library on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and the final one will be Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Vernon Senior Center from 3-6 p.m.

    The clinics are for Sussex County residents only.

    The flu and pneumococcal vaccines are free for those aged 65 and older with Medicare Part B. They must bring their Medicare Part B and supplementary insurance cards. Without Medicare B, the cost will be $20 for flue and $50 for pneumococcal.

    For those younger than 65, the flue vaccine will cost $20 and the pneumococcal vaccine will be $50.

    Medicare, cash or checks are accepted. Credit and debit cards are not. No Medicaid.
