The Hardyston Township Council approved the purchase of a new fire ruck on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Bill Hickerson presented the specifications and financial costs and the for the truck and equipment needed to the council. Hickerson has been a long-standing member of the Hardyston Township Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Management coordinator.

Hickerson said that they were able to order a few more air packs because the price of them was lower than what they anticipated them to be. He said they were able to replace 17 out of 18 air packs. The fire truck will be ordered 20 days from the Aug. 12 meeting because there has to be enough time to do a public notice. This is a requirement when you are using a national cooperative pricing system.

Due to the summer schedule there will not be a meeting on August 26, 2015. The two meeting per month will start again in September 2015.
