An array of musical styles, from country to folk to rock will highlight the 2nd Annual Rockin' Fest at Sussex County Community College on Saturday Sept. 12.

Rockin' Fest, a fundraising music festival, will be held at Sussex County Community College on the Connor Green from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the doors opening at 10:30 a.m. The proceeds from this event will go toward addressing the needs and create a financial safety net for SCCC student veterans through the Student Veterans Emergency Relief program.

The event features groups such as the Nikki Briar Band, Hot Flashes, Pepperville, Rick Barth Band, The Jones, and Only Living Boy.

There also will be games, raffles, contests, as well as food and merchandise vendors, and veterans' service organizations to round out the day.

The day will begin with a POW/MIA tribute by Jim Cahill and the colors and national anthem being presented by the Branchville American Legion.

"This is a great event for folks to show their support for our veterans," said Mike DeVilliers, veterans services coordinator at SCCC. "It's a fun event, it's very affordable, and without a double it's a win-win for everybody who attends. It's another way for us to thank our veterans for their service to our country."

Rockin' Fest is free to attend, but parking is $10 per car, $5 per motorcycle and $5 for cars with a veteran or SCCC student with ID. The event will be held rain or shine.
