Franklin swears in newest council member

FRANKLIN — Dawn Fantasia was sworn in at the regular Borough Council meeting on Jan. 12.
Fantasia was unanimously voted to fill the vacancy created when Nicholas Giordano left the council to become mayor.
Fantasia’s term is an interim appointment which will run until Dec. 31, 2016.
The county Republican committee nominated three people to fill the seat: Fantasia, Richard Knop and Stephen Skellenger.
Councilman Gilbert Snyder nominated Fantasia, Councilman Bob Dabinett seconded followed by the rest of the council unanimously voting “yes”.
Fantasia was immediately sworn in as the newest member of the Franklin Borough Council and took her seat on the dais after a 10-minute recess so she could review the remaining agenda.
Fantasia is a career educator and mother of three.
