Sparta. Eric DeCamps of Karat Close-up Magic returns on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Eric DeCamps of Karat Close-up Magic returns to the Sparta Avenue Stage, 10 Sparta Avenue North, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26.
DeCamps’s credits include numerous magic awards, his own show “Pure Magic” that played in New York and Chicago, as well as performances throughout the U.S., Europe, Japan, and South America. “Eric is engaging and debonair and we are delighted to welcome him back to the close-up table for an evening of compelling stories and visual artistry,” says the invitation.
A limited number of tickets -- 20 to 24 -- are available for $30 each. Call 973-903-6052 for reservations.
Temperatures will be checked at the door, and masks will be required when moving around the theater space. Seating will be assigned by the number of patrons in the group. Due to reduced capacity, Sparta Stage has had to raise its ticket pricing. However, any previously issued tickets for past shows will be honored for this show.
“Our magic community in NJ did not remain unscathed during the pandemic,” said a statement from Sparta Stage. “Dr. Gene Nebel, magician, friend, succumbed to the virus on April 24, 2020. He was a gentleman and a scholar. During the day, Gene, (a clinical psychologist at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital) worked with troubled youths, helping them live healthier lives, applying the research and science of behavior change to the problems they experienced; he made a difference in people’s lives. Gene was a regular at the Sparta Ave Stage. He will be missed.”
