Catch jazz, blues, folk performances

Musical highlights this week include jazz with saxophonist David Wallace and a blues-filled evening with JP Soars & the Red Hots.

Friday, Sept. 6

Erika Sherger will bring her indie folk tunes to Lafayette House, 75 Route 15, starting at 6 p.m.

At 6:30 p.m., enjoy acoustic selections by Chris Donnelly at Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta.

A country line dancing event at Sunset View Farm, 27 Pierce Road, Lafayette, begins at the same time.

Paul Derin’s Booze & Grooves night kicks off at 7 p.m. at Milk Street Distillery, 1 Milk St., Branchville.

Cat Treats will perform at McQ’s Pub at Lake Lenape, 165 Andover Sparta Road, Newton, also at 7 p.m.

Brian St. John takes the stage at 8 p.m. at the Sparta Pour House, 43 Center St.

Unleash your inner star with karaoke at O’Reilly’s Pub and Grill, 271 Spring St., Newton, starting at 9 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 7

Start your morning with Jeiris Cook, who will perform at 10 a.m. at the Sparta Farmers Market, 89 S. Sparta Ave.

Sunset View Farm will host “Dessert in the Dahlias” from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., featuring music and dancing in a vibrant floral setting. Last year, the event drew nearly 800 people.

Edric will bring a fusion of blues, jazz and funk to Angry Erik Brewing, 2 Camre Drive, Newton, at 4 p.m.

At 6 p.m., catch Mauro Melleno’s piano tunes at the Lafayette House or Scott Ringle rocking at McQ’s Pub.

JP Soars & the Red Hots are headlining at 7 p.m. at the Stanhope House, 45 Main St. The blues guitarist and his band promise an unforgettable performance with their Southern-inspired sound and diverse influences. The Harrisons will be playing energetic rock duo tunes at Milk Street Distillery, also at 7 p.m.

Wrap up your night with a performance by Rosey Bengal at 9 p.m. at O’Reilly’s Pub.

Sunday, Sept. 8

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of folk-rock acoustic music as Maribyrd takes the stage at Angry Erik Brewing, starting at 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 10

Head over to O’Reilly’s at 6 p.m. for Patio Tuesday, featuring a live performance by Brian St. John.

Wednesday, Sept. 11

Starting at 4 p.m., the Black Dirt Bandits bring their country sound to Danny C’s Summer Concert Series & Hot Rod Cruise Night at Blue Arrow Farm, 86 Glenwood Road, Pine Island, N.Y. There will be a special 9/11 tribute; first-responders admitted for free.

At 5 p.m., Sean Henry returns to McQ’s Pub for an evening of great tunes.

It’s karaoke night at 6:30 p.m. at the Homestead Rest, 294 N Church Road, Sparta.

Enjoy Ladies Night at O’Reilly’s with live music by Shane Casey at 7 p.m..

Thursday, Sept. 12

The Homestead Rest hosts its acoustic open mic night at 6 p.m. Sign-ups start at 5:30 p.m.

If you’re in the mood for jazz, head over to Krogh’s at 6:30 p.m. for a night of funk-soul jazz with saxophonist David Wallace.

Alyssa Goldstein will bring her powerful vocals to the Glenwood, 2 Vernon Crossing Road, Vernon, at 7 p.m.

DJ Cool Wave’s karaoke takes over McQ’s Pub at the same time.

Music bingo returns to O’Reilly’s Pub at 8 p.m.
