Chefs join together, supporters enjoy the result
Project Self-Sufficiency benefits from the proceeds ANDOVER Chefs from 26 local restaurants united to offer samplings of their most celebrated dishes at Project Self-Sufficiency’s 13th annual “A Taste of Talent” on Monday, April 6. The proceeds from the evening benefitted the programs and services provided to low-income families by Project Self-Sufficiency. “Now more than ever, Project Self-Sufficiency is in need of the community’s support,” said Deborah Berry-Toon, executive director of Project Self-Sufficiency. “In the past 22 years, we have served more than 18,000 families. However, we are now experiencing a dramatic increase in the number of low-income families requesting assistance due to the current economic situation. A Taste of Talent’ is an important part of Project Self-Sufficiency’s annual fundraising campaign, and we are very grateful to the individuals and organizations which believe in our mission and continue to support us year after year.” Guests were treated to an array of dishes ranging from hors d’oeuvres to entrees to desserts, while they mingled and chatted with the chefs.
