Jessica L. Lavorgna, a graduate of Vernon Township High School and a resident of Highland Lakes, is a professional dancer and has been owner and artistic director of the Roseland Performing Arts Company in Roseland, N.J., since 2005. Lavorgna attended the North Carolina School of the Arts and studied with Melissa Hayden. She danced with the Roxey Ballet Company, New Jersey Ballet Junior Company and the Greater Lansing Ballet Company. This year, her company performed “The Nutcracker Story” at Ridgewood Elementary School Theater in Glen Ridge. The performance is a showcase for the Company’s students and a great performance experience as they perform with professionals in one of the most famous classical ballets. The company uses professional stage, lighting and sound crews, as well as professional scenery and backdrops. Among the many classes offered to recreational student dancers and professionally tracked students, as well as performances, the school also holds a Summer Intensive Program.
