Newton native releases first suspense novel

Newton — It was in Newton that Ladean Warner learned to love writing stories. She credits her English teacher, Eleanor Ellsworth, at Kittantinny Regional High School, with inspiring her to become a novelist. Her new suspense novel, “The Keeper of Darkness” is set in Saratoga, New York. Using the backdrop of Saratoga and the end of track season, Ladean weaves a story born out of her love of suspense novels. In the story, former detective Jake Peterson is drawn somewhat reluctantly into a murder case when it comes too close for comfort. Ladean wrote her first story for her English class at Marian McKeown Elementary School. After graduating from Kittatinny Regional High School in 1979, Ladean attended Katharine Gibbs School, graduating in 1981 and moved to upstate New York. She attended Empire State College while raising her children and obtained her MBA. In addition to writing, Ladean works as a finance director for a girls’ school, enjoys spending time with her family, is involved in her local church, is an avid reader, and enjoys other creative pursuits. The novel has been released by Publish America, Frederick, Maryland, and will be available at bookstores nationwide.
