Nominees sought for Sussex County senior of the year

NEWTON — The Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services is seeking nominations for the “2013 Sussex County Senior of the Year.”

Nominees must be residents of Sussex County, at least 60 years old, and role models for their peers. This is an opportunity to recognize a senior you know that goes above and beyond to assist their friends and neighbors and make their community a better place to live.

Senior Day at the New Jersey State Fair will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Award Ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. It is during the Award Ceremony that all nominees will be recognized, and the Sussex County Senior of the Year will be announced. Nominees must agree to attend the Award Ceremony.

All forms must be completed in their entirety, or they will be disqualified. The information provided on the Nomination Form is the baseline the committee uses to select the Senior of the Year; therefore, ensure that the instructions on the form are followed.
