Hardyston — Tri-State Actors Theater will present a reading of Mary Ryzuk’s new comedy, "Sunsrise at Midnight" as part of its “On the Town” Play Reading Series on Saturday, April 21. The reading will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Cava Winery, on Route 94 in Hardyston (Hamburg for GPS)

Admission to the reading is by donation. An audience talk-back with the playwright, as well as with director Paul Meacham and the actors will follow the reading. The evening’s play readers are professional actors Katrina Ferguson, Jonathan Holtzman, JC Hoyt and Quinn Warren.

This brand new comedy is about theater and the quirky folk who inhabit it. A famous woman director is professionally estranged from her playwright son, both of whom have won the Tony award for “Best Play” and “Best Direction” of his first play, “Sunrise at Midnight.” Into the mix comes Jack Bristol, the director's sometime lover. Unexpectedly, they are faced with a down-on-her-luck waifish young woman with a secret agenda who further stirs the plot. In confronting the young woman's sudden surprises, the mother and son are forced to deal with their own relationship, with old lovers and new fathers.

Playwright Mary Ryzuk, with a PhD in theatre from the City University of New York, has been a recipient of a Creative Artist Award, NYS grant, a New York Creative Artist Public Service Award, a New Jersey State Fellowship award and a New Jersey ACT Perry award for Lifetime Achievement. Ryzuk has had over 20 productions of her plays produced from California to New York to London.

Her latest book, a novel, "The Fires Within — the summer of '88," can be found on Amazon.com.

At the winery The evening’s host, Cava Winery and Vineyard, will be serving a cheese and cracker appetizer, and a pre-fixe dinner for $30 per person. Wine is available to purchase by the carafe or glass. A credit card is required by the Winery to hold reservations. A $10 appetizer plate of cheese, meat and crackers for two will also be offered.
