White Lake Beach Club will host open house

Sparta — The White Lake Beach Club is preparing to open for the season and will hold an open house on Saturday, June 20, from 2 to 7 p.m. The club, operated by Sparta Parks & Recreation, is located off White Lake Road behind the new sports complex. The lake is the center of activity with members able to enjoy free use of paddleboats, volleyball, horseshoes or badminton. New this year will be: Game Days, Craft Days, weekend parties, and yoga classes. Snacks will also be provided weekdays at 2:30 p.m. Swimming lessons are offered for groups or individuals for an additional cost, and are available to all Sparta residents, not just beach club members. Another added benefit is the new paved walking path located by the soccer fields. Full season memberships are $250 for a family of four. Each additional child is $37. There are also couple, and individual packages available for $187 and $152 respectively. The season runs from June 22 to Sept. 7, and the lake facilities are open weekdays from noon to 7 p.m., and from 1 to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
