Ziegler Dance Centre succeeds at competition

SPARTA — Ziegler Dance Centre’s Z Dance Troupe of McAfee recently attended the Dance Xplosion Dance Competition in Sparta at Sussex Technical Institute.

The dancers dazzled the judges and audience with their talents in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Musical Theatre.

The dancers are under direction of Peggy Ziegler, Renee Ziegler, Doreen Ziegler, and Bonnie Sybesma.

Out of the studio's 75 dance numbers, 42 of them landed in the Top 10 overalls in their divisions.

Ava Berner of Hardyston won first overall for her jazz solo “Glitter” in the Petite Accelerated Division. Reese Decker of Hamburg energized the auditorium with his hip hop dance, “I Wanna Party,” and won first overall and Mr. Junior DXP. Matthew Losco of Vernon gave an outstanding jazz performance to “Satan’s Little Lamb” and won first overall and Mr. Teen DXP.

Berner of Hardyston, Makayla Snyder of Franklin and Sophia Van Leuven of Vernon won first overall for their jazz trio “Word Up” in the Petite Accelerated division. Hip hop trio “Love Stuck” performed by Reese Decker of Hamburg, Kiana Kerton of Vernon and Alana Levy of Vernon pumped it up and won first overall in the Junior duet/trio division. Petite Large group hip hop “Jumping” won first overall in its division.

Small group tap “Digga Digga Do” won first overall in the Junior division.

“Tangled-Rapunzel’s Adventure”, ZDC’s production, won first overall for Teen large groups and lines. ZDC also was awarded a Studio Excellence award in Hip Hop.
