Bands to turn the county green

As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, Sussex County offers plenty of places to celebrate.

Friday, March 15

Blue Arrow Farm, 86 Glenwood Road, Pine Island, N.Y., welcomes attendees to a Blues Invitational at 6 p.m. with the TeeVee AllStars, featuring the extraordinary Jonny Rosch from the Blues Brothers Band.

Black Radish, a dynamic acoustic duo featuring singer-songwriter and guitarist Dylan Belding and percussionist Sarah Berman, will perform at 6:30 p.m. at Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta.

Brick & Brew, 27 Route 23, Franklin, will host the Andrea Nies Duo at 7 p.m.

Vinyl fans may enjoy Paul Derin’s Booze & Grooves night at Milk Street Distillery, 1 Milk St., Branchville.

The Irish spirit will be alive at the Irish Cottage Inn, 602 Route 23, Franklin, as the Harrisons launch their St. Paddy’s celebrations at 7 p.m.

At the Stanhope House, 45 Main St., Paradise Rose, a tribute to Guns n’ Roses, will take the stage, with doors opening at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

At 7 p.m., the Foster Children will rock the stage at McQ’s Pub, 165 Andover Sparta Road, Newton, with their energetic brand of rock.

Wonder Mutt will infuse O’Reilly’s Pub and Grill, 271 Spring St., Newton, with folk-punk tunes at 9 p.m.

Saturday, March 16

Scott Heath will take the stage at the Irish Cottage Inn at 3 p.m., setting the tone for an afternoon of spirited performances.

Angry Erik Brewing, 2 Camre Drive, Newton, invites patrons to indulge in the acoustic classics and modern rock stylings of John Cain starting at 4 p.m.

The St. Paddy’s Day celebrations continue at Blue Arrow Farm, featuring the Lenahan School of Irish Dance and Grafton Street.

The Irish Cottage Inn welcomes back Blarney Fife at 7 p.m., offering a quintessential Irish pub experience complete with sing-alongs and merriment.

Simultaneously, the Harrisons will captivate audiences at the Glenwood, 2 Vernon Crossing Road, Vernon.

Billy Hector, accompanied by the Midnite Horns, Keys and the Queen, will take center stage at the Stanhope House at 7 p.m., for an electrifying show that blends rock with soulful melodies. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Milk Street Distillery will groove to the tunes of the Mike Lawlor Banned; Brick & Brew will host the Porch Pirates; and McQ’s Pub will feature the I-187 classic rock duo, all starting at 7 p.m.

All weekend long, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will be flowing at O’Reilly’s Pub with performances by Shane Casey, Joe Lalama and special guest Sean Henry.

Sunday, March 17

Starting at 2:30 p.m., Angry Erik Brewing will host Blarney Fife, with a fusion of Irish folk tunes and rock-fife band melodies.

At 3 p.m., Krogh’s hosts Gerry Arias alongside the traditional Irish sounds of Maggie Faulkner & the Fabricators, transporting audiences to the heart of Ireland with their soulful renditions.

The Glenwood welcomes Sean O’Flynn at 3 p.m., while Brick & Brew invites patrons to enjoy the captivating tunes of the Frankie Goes to Dollywood bluegrass band.

McQ’s Pub will resonate with the Celtic punk, rock and classic rock sounds of Kill Van Kelts at 4 p.m.

The evening crescendos with St. Moritz Grill & Bar, 9 White Deer Plaza, Sparta, hosting Chasing June at 5 p.m. It will offer Irish traditional sounds and St. Paddy’s favorites, accompanied by a full band ensemble featuring fiddles and mandolins.

For those craving a more electrifying guitar experience, the Newton Theatre beckons with the phenomenal Samantha Fish taking the stage at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $39 and may be purchased online at skypac.org.

Wednesday, March 20

At 5 p.m. at McQ’s, patrons may enjoy another night with Sean Henry, serenading the crowd with his soulful tunes.

At Blue Arrow Farm, Danny C’s Concert Series continues with a performance by Wonderloaf at 5 p.m. Get ready to groove to the sounds of the 1970s, and don’t forget to dress the part in your best ‘70s attire!

For those looking to unleash their inner rock star, the Homestead Rest, 294 N. Church Road, Sparta, invites you to join Ray Sikora for a night of karaoke at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 21

The Homestead Rest hosts an open mic night starting at 6 p.m., with sign-ups starting at 5:30 p.m.

At Krogh’s, renowned musician Dave Fields will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. A New York Blues Hall of Famer and Fodera Guitar artist, Fields will deliver soulful singing with guitar virtuosity across blues, rock and beyond.

The Early American Tavern, 9 Main St., Sussex, welcomes Don Oriolo for a performance also starting at 6:30 p.m.

For those craving an authentic Irish musical experience, the Newton Theatre presents Dervish’s 30th annual U.S. tour at 8 p.m. With its innovative interpretations of Irish folk music, Dervish promises to breathe new life into beloved classics, transporting audiences to the heart of County Sligo, Ireland. Tickets start at $39.
