Labor Day weekend ignites the holiday festivities with a dynamic musical kickoff.

Become immersed in the captivating tunes of Acoustic Wolves as they take the stage at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at Lafayette House, 75 Route 15. They will showcase their musical journey spanning three decades.

Meanwhile, at McQ’s Pub at Lake Lenape, 165 Andover Sparta Road, Newton, the Foster Children will unleash their fun-filled rock collective at 6 p.m. for an electrifying evening.

For a dose of “cranked-up country,” join Glenn Roberts at the Alibi Beach Bar & Grill, 172 Lackawanna Drive, Stanhope, at 6:30 p.m. as he delivers his signature sound.

Concluding the Sparta Summer Concert Series at Dykstra Park, 4 Mohawk Ave., the Chris O’Leary Band takes the stage at 7 p.m.

During his distinguished career, O’Leary was singer and frontman for the Grammy-winning Levon Helm band, the Barnburners. He has shared the stage with musical luminaries, including Bobby Keys, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmy Vivino, Jeff Healy and the legendary James Cotton among others.

Get ready for Whiskey Crossing’s infusion of country blues rock at 7 p.m. at Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta, promising an evening of soulful rhythms.

Kick off your Saturday morning with the soothing melodies of Bard of the Hills at Sparta’s Farmers Market, 89 S. Sparta Ave.

At 4 p.m., immerse yourself in the acoustic folk and rock sounds of Tom Carpenter at Angry Erik Brewing, 2 Camre Drive, Newton.

The Stanhope House, 45 Main St., welcomes back Street Hassle at 5 p.m., offering a powerful performance from this rock quintet.

As the evening unfolds, Mike Herz will grace the Lafayette House with his musical magic at 6 p.m.

For a night of acoustic tunes, head to O’Reilly’s Pub and Grill, 271 Spring St., Newton, at 9 p.m. to enjoy Omar Mendez’s performance.

Embrace a laid-back Thursday evening, Sept. 7 at Homestead Rest, 294 N. Church Road, Sparta, with its acoustic open mic night from 6 to 9 p.m. Sign up to perform starting at 5:30 p.m.

From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Chris Fantasia will take the stage at Krogh’s, offering a fusion of blues, shred guitar, hard rock and punk.

For a high-energy performance, the excitement continues at 8 p.m. as Geoff Tate’s Big Rock Show Hits takes over the Newton Theatre, 234 Spring St.
