Crimestoppers Sheriff’s Reception is tonight
LAFAYETTE. Sheriff Michael Strada will discuss successes of the past year at the fundraiser.

The Sussex County Sheriff’s Crimestoppers Sheriff’s Reception will be Thursday, April 27 at the Farmstead Golf & Country Club in Lafayette.
During the reception, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Sheriff Michael Strada will discuss successes of the past year.
The Sussex County Sheriff’s Crimestoppers Organization is one of the most successful in the state based on the number of tips and subsequent arrests that are made from these tips.
The 2022 statistics:
Drug-related : 25 tips
Wanted persons: 34 tips
Public disturbance: one tip
Possible elderly abuse: two tips
Cyber stalking : one tip
Prostitution: two tips
Theft: one tip
Self turn in: one individual
Arrested: seven individuals
Crimestoppers is a nonprofit organization. This is the only annual fundraiser, with all proceeds going toward the funding of reward money for the tips that are received.
“We want to thank everyone who is able to come out and support such an important organization,” Strada said.
“Every municipality in Sussex County benefits in some way by the tips that are received by Crimestoppers. It is because of these tips that we are able to assist all of Sussex County’s law enforcement in keeping Sussex County safe.”
All tips received via the website at www.sussexcountysheriff.com or the hotline at 973-300-CRIME are anonymous.
Crimestoppers will pay up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of criminals. The reward is paid in cash.
When people contact Crimestoppers, they are assigned a confidential code number, which is used for identification. At no time will anyone ask the tipster’s name.
