Fire extinguished at Skylands Stadium
AUGUSTA. No injuries reported in two-alarm blaze.
Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze at Skylands Stadium in Augusta on Friday night, Nov. 17. No injuries were reported.
The Frankford Township Fire Department was dispatched to the stadium about 10 p.m. after a report of a large amount of smoke there.
Firefighters found dark smoke coming from the clubhouse section and upgraded the call to a second-alarm structure fire. After a short search, crews found the fire and extinguished it, the department said.
They left the scene just before 1 a.m.
Assisting were the Beemerville Fire Company, Blue Ridge Rescue Squad, Branchville Hose Company #1, Colesville Fire Company, Hampton Township Fire & Rescue, Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department, Montague Volunteer Fire Department, New Jersey State Police, Newton Volunteer First Aid & Rescue Squad, Sandyston Township Fire Department, Sussex Fire Department and EMS, and Sussex County Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Newton Volunteer Fire Department and Stillwater Area Volunteer Fire Company covered for other departments during the fire.
