Fredon man gets 8 years in prison
NEWTON. Matthew Knorr, 27, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to distribute it and unlawful possession of an assault firearm.
Matthew Knorr, 27, of Fredon was sentenced to eight years in state prison Friday, Aug. 23 by Superior Court Judge Michael Gaus in Newton.
Knorr pleaded guilty to second-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine) with the intent to distribute that cocaine and second-degree unlawful possession of an assault firearm.
The charges were filed after an investigation last November and December by the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force along with New Jersey State Police.
Knorr also must submit a DNA sample and pay $2,330 in mandatory fees and penalties.
7-year prison term
Jerome Cherry, 57, of Jersey City was sentenced to seven years in state prison Thursday, Aug. 22.
He pleaded guilty to second-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine) with the intent to distribute it.
He was charged after an investigation in June and July 2022 by the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force along with the Newton Police Department.
Cherry must submit a DNA sample and pay $2,205 in mandatory fees and penalties.
