Man admits driving under influence of drugs

Vincent Reinke, 25, of Randolph pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault by auto in addition to a driving while intoxicated motor vehicle offense Feb. 23.

Sentencing on the assault by auto charge is scheduled for May 4 before Judge Michael Gaus at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton.

On the DWI charge, he was sentenced to loss of his driving license for seven months and seven months of using an interlock device after license suspension, 12 hours of classes at an Intoxicated Driver Research Center, and $690 in fines and fees.

In pleading guilty, Reinke admitted driving under the influence of drugs which led to a motor vehicle accident in which a person was injured.

• Christian Nietschke, 28, of Middletown was sentenced to a suspended term of three years in state prison Feb. 23.

He must submit a DNA sample and pay $1,205 in fines and fees.

He pleaded guilty on Dec. 8 to third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

He admitted having a controlled dangerous substance March 6, 2022, in Vernon.

• Timothy Durgin II, 28, of Stanhope was sentenced to three years of probation Feb. 23.

He also must complete 90 days in the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program, lose his driving privileges for six months, and pay $2,155 in fines and fees.

He pleaded guilty on Jan. 3 to fourth-degree false public alarm.

He admitted making a false call to 911 to report his car being stolen after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash.

• Thomas Broderick, 33, was sentenced to time served and ordered to pay mandatory fines Feb. 24.

On Jan. 4, Broderick pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal trespass. He admitted unlawfully entering a dwelling in Montague and causing damage there July 25, 2018.
