Couple celebrates 55th wedding anniversary

Barry Murphy and Joanne Ruvo's wedding day on Aug. 29, 1964
Barry Murphy and Joanne Ruvo met Saturday evening, Nov. 4, 1961, at Delta Kappa Epsilon, after he returned from a football game.
They have just recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
Barry invited her and her friend in and enjoy the party. For Barry it was love at first sight.
On Saturday, Nov. 25, she met Barry’s parents as they sat in the Rutgers Stadium and watched the Rutgers team become the first undefeated team in the school’s history. The next week Barry met her parents. They married Aug. 29, 1964.
They had 2 wonderful children Kristen Luzi of Chatham Township and Jay Murphy of San Francisco California, and 6 beautiful grandchildren.
They celebrated their 55th on a riverboat cruise up the Rhine River, where they met many wonderful people.
As Barry likes to say “she’s my pal, my friend and the love of his life.”
