Balzano earns community college award
SUSSEX Anthony Balzano, Ph.D., a professor of anthropology and sociology at Sussex County Community College, was recently named the winner of the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development award, given to educators at community colleges who strive for teaching excellence. The institute is the outreach organization to the Community College Leadership Program at the University of Texas at Austin. Balzano is coordinator of the anthropology and sociology program, coordinator of the psychology program and coordinator of “Sustained Dialogue on Diversity” at the college. He is a member of the American Anthropological Association and American Sociological Association, among other organizations. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Livingston College at Rutgers University and his master’s and doctorate degrees in anthropology from Rutgers University.
