Nicole Piela, a 2006 graduate of Vernon Township High School, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Byram resident Angela E. Gargano has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at Rhode Island College, where she has a 4.0 GPA. She is a chemistry major and is a member of the college’s Womens NCAA Division III gymnastics team. Sparta resident Elyse Lauren Earl has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where she has a 4.0 GPA. Six area students have been named to the honor list for the fall 2008 semester at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa. They are: Sparta residents Gulce Askin and Stephanie Elizabeth Molina; Stanhope residents Steven Richard Kreuder, Rebecca Lauren Underwood and Scott Brian Vladyka; and Sussex resident Aimee Alana Griffin. Newton resident Vijay Tiwari, a Centenary College graduate assistant, two months of study at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). Located in Shanghai, China, the school ranks as the number one MBA institution in Asia and number eight worldwide in the Financial Times’ 2008 annual MBA ranking. Tiwari went through a stringent selection process, including an essay, high academic grades in current programs and faculty recommendations. Tiwari is a native of India who completed his undergraduate studies at Magadh University. Hopatcong resident Shauntele Sacco recently earned her doctor of physical therapy degree from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa. Stanhope resident David Hanna was a recipient of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus’ Community Service and Leadership Award, presented to students based upon their leadership, academic achievement, and outstanding service to the university community. Hopatcong resident Theodore Battaglia has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at Westfield State College in Westfield, Ma. Three Sussex County high school seniors have received achievement scholarships to attend Berkeley College. They are: Todd Drexl of Franklin, from Wallkill Valley Regional High School; Kaila Kunzer of Stanhope, from Lenape Valley Regional High School; and Donniel Woloszyn of Sussex, from High Point Regional High School. Spart resident Stephanie Molina has been elected to the Iota Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa Society at Gettysburg College. Molina is a member of the Class of 2009.
