Miles Thomas Cartwright of Sparta was named to the dean’s list for the 2008 winter quarter from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga. Angela DelCorpo of Stanhope graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in in secondary education-social studies. Area students recently received degrees from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. They are: Daniel R. LaTorraca, with a a bachelor’s degree in English; Jennifer Badami of Newton, with a master’s degree in educational administration; Nicole M. Spaldo of Stanhope, with a master’s degree in cccupational therapy; ; Michele T. Campo of Sparta, with a master’s degree in special education. Vincent Fiorentino, a 2006 graduate of Sparta High School, has been named to the spring 2009 dean’s list at The College of New Jersey, with a 4.0 GPA. He is also a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Sparta High School graduate Kyla Whitley graduated from The University of Maryland with academic honors, receiving a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, with a concentration in studio art. She was chosen for the honors art program, given to 10 seniors providing them with studio space, small group critiques, opportunities to meet with visiting artists, and gallery/museum trips with their professors. Whitley also completed a graphic arts internship and a work/study program with the UMD Graphic Arts Department. Sparta residents Laura Gilson and Cristina Garafola have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. Sparta residents Gregory J. Williamson, who is majoring in business administration; Ashley Dickerson, who is majoring in criminal justice; Megan Powers, who is majoring in English; Sean R. Tooley, who is majoring in marketing; Phillip N. Harnois, who is majoring in mechanical engineering; and Justine M. Carlucci, who is majoring in psychology were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Northeastern University in Boston. Sparta resident Courtney Jent has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at at Providence College. Sparta resident Melanie Greenberg was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at the State University of New York at New Paltz. She is a senior majoring in metal. Recent Sussex County Community College business graduate Katherine Ross was inducted into the New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Association. The NJCBAA was established in 2003 as a statewide honor society for students studying business at both two and four year colleges in New Jersey. She received an associate degree in business adminstration and the SCCC Excellence Award for Business Administration and will continue her education at Ramapo College this Fall majoring in Accounting.
