John “J.C.” Czarnecki

John “JC” Czarnecki, of Andover Twp., passed away the morning of Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022 at the Newton Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 83 years old.

Born and raised in Bloomfield, N.J. he had also lived in the Lake Shawnee section of Jefferson Twp. before moving to Andover Twp. in 1980.

He was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. A friendly and social man, John loved meeting new people. He had worked many years as a truck driver for Jefferson Lumber Co. JC made countless friends and meaningful relationships throughout his driving career.

He was a carded member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials for over forty-five years. An avid fly fisherman, he enjoyed fishing with his grandson and teaching him how to drive and use his tractor. He was passionate about refereeing, had a tireless work ethic, but he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Elinor A. (nee Barron) Czarnecki, his two daughters, Allison and her husband Keith Jablonski of Roseland and Nancy Czarnecki of Andover Twp. Also surviving are his cherished grandson Justin Jablonski as well as his sister Sandra Falkowski of Warwick, R.I.

Visitation was held Wednesday Feb. 16, 2022 at the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home. A funeral mass was celebrated Thursday Feb. 17, at the Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church.
