Cub Scouts collecting food for local pantry
FRANKLIN - Cub Scout Pack 90 in Franklin Borough is conducting a food drive to benefit the Partnership for Social Service Family Center. Over 40 scouts in the pack will be collecting canned and nonperishable food from their families, friends and neighbors from May 22 through June 18. "Our cub scout pack has adopted the Family Center in order to provide assistance on a regular basis," said Cubmaster Mike Sullivan. "Many organizations support the center around the holidays, but we want our relationship to continue throughout the year." He said the scouts hope to do several food drives each year, as well as collect clothing and household items for the center to distribute. The Family Center, located at 48 Wyker Road in Franklin, is widely known for providing assistance and food to local families in need. Local residents can participate in the food drive by giving food items to any Scout in their area or by dropping it off at the Family Center. Recommended items include tuna, peanut butter, pasta, soup, canned vegetables, mixes and helpers, gelatin, cereal, crackers and cookies. Call Mike Sullivan at 973-827-1955.
