Franklin walk kicks off Franklin Day

FRANKLIN — The Zinctown Historic Preservation 5K run/walk on Saturday, June 27 is the kickoff event for Franklin Day. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. with registration at the Franklin Heritage Museum at 95 Main St. The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. and the walk at 9:15 a.m. Individual walkers must be at least 7 years old to participate. A special family entry rate of $10 has been set to encourage families to join. Ribbon awards will be given to the top three walkers. Elite Systems of Clifton will again time the 5K event, with trophies awarded to the three top male and female winners. The proceeds of the event will be used to further the restoration of the Edison Schoolhouse/Hungarian Church, relocated to the Main Street center.
