High school art society names winners

VERNON — The National Art Honor Society Chapter at Vernon Township High School hosted its Sixth Annual Art Invitational recently, drawing participants from 12 high school art departments from New Jersey and New York. Mike Bihler, a senior at VTHS, was awarded a $20,000 scholarship to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Students who won prizes include: Painting: Eva Okrent, Mt. Olive, first place; Brittany Naundorf, Delaware Valley, second; Danielle Oyales, Mt. Olive, third place. Drawing: Audrey Purcell, Kittatiny, first place; Javan Johnson, Bergenfield, second place; Brielle Wilchinsky, third place. Sculpture: Julian Mandredo, Vernon, first place; Jovelle Ellefsen, High Point, second place; Jennifer Paulson, West Milford, third place.
