18 schools compete in track meet
HAMBURG. The Sparta Middle School girls and boys teams win first place in the annual Sussex County Middle School Track Meet.


The Hardyston Township Middle School hosted the annual Sussex County Middle School Track Meet on May 22-23 at Wallkill Valley Regional High School.
Eighteen schools participated, including Andover, Byram, Frankford, Franklin, Hardyston, Kittatinny, Lafayette, Montague, Newton, Northwest Christian, Ogdensburg, Pope John, Sparta, Sussex Christian, Sussex-Wantage and Vernon.
Vince Serio of Sparta Middle School was awarded the Male Most Valuable Player.
Alexy Weaver of Hardyston Middle School was awarded the Female Most Valuable Player.
Team trophies were awarded for first, second, third and fourth place.
Girls
First place: Sparta Middle School.
Second place: Glen Meadow Middle School, Vernon.
Third place: Pope John Middle School.
Fourth place: Hardyston Middle School.
Boys
First place: Sparta Middle School.
Second place: Hardyston Middle School.
Third place: Pope John Middle School.
Fourth place: Frankford Middle School.
