Two local high school graduates recently received scholarships from Picatinny Federal Credit Union.

The awards, which amounted to $3,500 each were given to Michael Staples of Jefferson High School (New Jersey Credit Union Scholarship) and Meghan Grau of High Point Regional High School (Picatinny Federal Credit Union Future Leader's Scholarship).

The recipients were selected for their leadership, academic achievement, community service, and desire to pursue higher education upon graduation.

"We are thrilled to honor these two young people with scholarships that reflect their commitment to their education and community," said Bill Darling, president and chief executive officer of Picatinny Federal Credit Union. "They have shown that they have the desire to become the kind of leaders that this country needs for the future. We are very excited to present them with these scholarships."
