Career training school opens its doors

NEWTON — A state-approved career training school has opened on Trinity Street in Newton for people who are looking to break into the medical and dental fields.

The Dental and Medical Career Training Institute has flexible hours. The courses are also not based on a semester schedule so students can jump on board at any time during the year. The classes range from 1-6 months in length, depending on the subject, and most are much shorter than regular classes offered at colleges or universities.

Entry level medical and dental careers are always in high demand and DMCTI offers resources to help students find jobs after finishing a course. Along with classes, DMCTI gives students the option to participate in hospital-based internships through the Atlantic Healthcare System for an extra edge when applying for positions that require previous hands-on experience. And for students looking for financial help, the school works with the Sussex, Warren, and Morris County One-Stop Centers in addition to many other community organizations which can provide funds to eligible students.
