Students in Kelly Fedynich's enrichment class at Franklin Borough School were excited to participate in the STEAM Tank challenge in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Of 46 schools that entered the contest, 17 teams were invited to present at the New Jersey School Boards Association Convention.
For the last two months, the students created pitches and presentations about their different app inventions. The eighth-grade team created the idea for an app to help people who are blind, and the seventh-grade team created the idea for an app that helps dyslexic students read. At the convention, the students pitched their ideas to a panel of judges composed of NASA engineers, military engineers, and educators.
