Free Narcan training set in Hopatcong
Hopatcong. Center for Prevention will host free Narcan training at Hopatcong Community & Wellness Center.
A free community Narcan training on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose and how to administer the life-saving medication, Narcan, is set for Thursday, Aug. 15, from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Hopatcong Community Resource & Wellness Center located at 47 Hopatchung Road, Hopatcong.
The training, hosted by Center for Prevention and Counseling, Newton is being conducted in conjunction with Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Division of Addiction Psychiatry.
These free Narcan trainings are being offered throughout the state of New Jersey and the public is welcome to participate. Attendees will learn to recognize the signs of an overdose, how to administer Narcan and how to respond to an opioid overdose.
They also will learn more about addiction prevention, treatment and recovery support options and how to get help for yourself or a loved one.
