Lusscroft Day

The second annual Lusscroft Day will be held on Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at scenic Lusscroft Farm, 50 Neilson Rd., in Wantage. Many of Lusscroft's historic buildings will be open for visitors to explore. This year's activities include carriage rides, pony rides, vendors, a tack sale and baked goods sale, live music by Dennison Froehner - “Non Stop Denny,” food, antique cars, a nature hike, face painting, caricatures and more. There is no parking or admission fees, but some activities may have a small charge.
The first floor of the Turner Mansion will be open for visitors and will be displaying the talent of local photographers who participated in the Lusscroft Benefit Photography Competition. The awards ceremony for the competition will be held at 3:30 p.m. The Manager's House will be open and hosting “Christmas Bargains” in the summertime.
At 1 p.m. in the Carriage House, Dr. Robin Hill Chandler will do a presentation on “Lenape/Munsee - Their Culture and Achievements.” Dr. Chandler is a Wantage resident and Lenape/Munsee descendant. There is a $5 donation to attend the presentation.
The huge Dairy Barn will be open with a tack sale upstairs and barn sale downstairs. The barn is filled with recent donations of furniture, collectibles, vintage items, lighting, framed art, tools, china, glassware, books and more.
Lusscroft Day is sponsored by the Northwest Jersey Horse Show Association and The Heritage and Agriculture Association, in cooperation with the NJ DEP/Division of Parks and Forestry.
