Ogdensburg debuts new Streetscape improvements
OGDENSBURG — Robert Ogden himself couldn't ask for better party planning.
The Borough Council is working to ensure the centennial celebration marking the "birth" of the borough will be one to remember. The stage is being set for live bands, the parade's participants keep growing, and there will be food, as well as a beer tent to keep everyone full and happy all day long and well into the evening, with the crescendo of fireworks when the sun goes down.
The borough also will be proud to show off Main Street, as the "Streetscape" project is nearly complete, with flowers, plants and finishing touches being put in place in the coming days.
"Main Street really looks beautiful," Ogensburg resident Pat Sabourin said.
Mayor Steve Ciasullo said the project came in $3,248 under budget. Residents in attendance at a recent borough council meeting nodded in agreement, as the "facelift" the puts a clean, well-designed "Main Street USA" feel on the soon-to-be 100-year-old municipality.
